About this MCP server list

mcp-server.io is an independent directory of Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers — the open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude, Cursor, Windsurf and ChatGPT connect to external tools and data sources. Unlike raw aggregator lists, every server here is continuously monitored: we track last-commit activity from source repositories, run static security scans of published manifests (flagging filesystem, shell and network permissions plus prompt-injection patterns), and health-check remote endpoints daily.

Badges are computed from raw data, never assigned by hand: Verified servers have an auditable repository, recent commits and a clean scan; Maintained means commits within 90 days; Stale and Abandoned warn you before you install something that no longer works.
